You suspect that you may have a problem when…you're kit bashing a vehicle for "Maxamillian" (inter-war car wars type game). You need to put weapons on it and remember you have some 1/48 scale unmade Tamiya 8th Army.
When you are searching, you stumble across a unpainted 15mm Sassinid project, you come across some old Avalon Hill games, some of them up unpunched, must find some local board gamers, hmmm what's this Airfix Panzer IV kit doing here, I'm sure I sold off my 1/72 scale stuff, oh a box of Renaissance artillery, maybe I can use the guns.
Eureka!
My box of leftover bits from my Project Z, heaps of weapons here. 😜

It's like Christmas every time I go look in my pile 'o stuff!!

I didn't think I had that problem until I came across two 24-fig SYW Austrian infantry regiments and 2 12 fig dragoon regiments that I had forgotten about!

wrgmr123 Jun 2018 6:58 p.m. PST

Same here, bought 2 regiments if Austrian Cuirassiers only to find I already had 2 in the lead pile!

I may have mentioned it before, I bought a 10mm Mongol army at a bring and buy, came home, checked my 10mm Japanese army, found them sharing a drawer with a painted 10mm Mongol army.
Needless to say, neither army has yet set foot onto the Wargames table.
Wife is away at a craft show, so I treated myself to a 1/48 scale B-25 yesterday…,.Yossaian! 😁

Yup indeed, about to try parting with some painted modern skirmish figures. Had them for over 5 years, well painted and based but never been on the table because the Force on Force rules were to big for my small brain.

I say try, as soon as I open the box I will probably talk myself out of selling……maybe even buy an opposing force and some terrain, new rules, dice, measuring sticks, a third force to keep the interest up, new paints to do the camo…wow this could be a great project…….

Yes, I have too much. The pile has been steadily reducing as I sell things in the marketplace but if my leadpile were heaped in one spot it would collapse a house.

I too have way too much & am slowly selling off the excess.

Every convention, I drive a full econobox to Lancaster and drive back almost empty, trying to dispose of my mistakes, but there is no end in sight.

I have no lead pile. I paint units as I need them. No pile of stuff that I bought and then put aside. Of course it does help to have a stock of figures to pick from whenever I want to build a new unit. I do carry the stock for all of the 40mm Trident Design Miniatures. So, this must be my lead pile! Hahahah!

Gonsalvo24 Jun 2018 5:56 a.m. PST

Yeah, that's cheating, Doug! :-)

Just yesterday afternoon I found (again) a box of what I thought was old magazines but turned out to be convention programs and catalogs. Not the first time I "found" them and put them back so I'll probably find them again in a few years.

Some of the stuff I found were Origins programs and name tags from the early 1990s. Also, a Crazy Egor's flyer and catalog from the same period. My favorite was the stack of catalogs and price lists from Avalon Hill. Included are a couple of merchandise credits, about $8.00 USD – $10.00 USD, for unfilled items and an Avalon Hill T-Shirt.

Yes, I sheepishly confess to cheating. But it still is fun!!!

Not me. I'm whatever the opposite of a pack rat is.

Don't need it? Get rid of it.

IUsedToBeSomeone24 Jun 2018 8:26 a.m. PST

I am going through selling off unpainted lead and any collection I haven't used in the last 5 years.

Hopefully I will end up with a smaller set of periods that I use more often… It is also part of switching to bigger scales such as 54mm and 40mm away from 15mm.

I know what the words "too", "much", and "stuff" mean but I don't know what concept you are trying to represent when you put them together in that order.

bobspruster24 Jun 2018 2:08 p.m. PST

I think I may have enough stuff to keep me amused in my forthcoming retirement. But I better keep acquiring, just to be sure.

Chuckaroobob24 Jun 2018 10:47 p.m. PST

The only thing that keeps me from buying even more surplus stuff is lack of cash.

Just this week I dug out a box full of Krymek moonbase type buildings. Been there about 15 years. There are about 12 buildings. Now they're sitting in dishwashing detergent or drying primer. I still can't decide if I'll go with the Mars camo or the world famous triple grey and black camo.

Mike Target25 Jun 2018 2:33 a.m. PST

If I did have too much stuff, how would I know?

ordinarybass25 Jun 2018 5:24 a.m. PST

I have waaay too much stuff.
The figures and kits collection (painted and not) is big but would be mangeable if I didn't also have bins and bins of collected toys and supplies for terrain making.

jurgenation Supporting Member of TMP25 Jun 2018 10:12 a.m. PST

…as long as I;m still buying ..it must be okay?…right..?

If I still have checks, I must not be overdrawn.

Howler28 Jun 2018 8:45 p.m. PST

Yep. And my wife knows it

I ordered a bunch of Queen's Rangers from The War Store only to discover I had ordered them two years ago. Found them in a non-descript box in a closet. Had to cancel the order but they still showed up. Luckily they took them back. I desperately need more storage and a better memory.
