What percentage of your painted 15mm figures are individually based? |
JimDuncanUK | 22 Jun 2018 1:30 p.m. PST |
Not many but I have thousands. |

I used to do it for crew in My Galley Sally games. Otherwise I think they're too small for individual basing. YMMV |

About 75% are individually based. I only multibase for FoW, DBA, and Mighty Armies. |

About 40% Individual and 60% grouped |
Fat Wally | 22 Jun 2018 2:19 p.m. PST |
Perhaps 5%. I use individual figures mostly as status markers. |
Jcfrog | 22 Jun 2018 2:27 p.m. PST |
Ssome skirmishers. Most of those for SP2. Magnets. |
Ragbones | 22 Jun 2018 2:33 p.m. PST |
About 75%. I have thousands of individually based 15mm figures. |

Only a few that are either used as "markers" in Russian Civil War or as leaders in RCW and medieval. Jim |

How do people individually base their 15mm figures? Washers, coins, square bases etc. |
Saber6 | 22 Jun 2018 7:30 p.m. PST |
Vast majority are on stands of 3+ maybe 10% or at least several hundred |

10% or less. Mounted on Bingo chips (thanks to my Mother-in-Law who passed away) |

None. For skirmish games I use 28mm. 15mm and smaller are for bigger battles with a base representing a squad or larger. My 15mm have at least 3 figures per base. |

None. Individual basing begins at 1/72. Hmm. One hedge. The lowest rank of mounted command figure in each army rides in splendid isolation. Middle tier gets a ADC, and the highest level has a little command grouping of three or four figures. But a single mounted figure in 15mm is as small a base as I care to handle. A single infantryman would either be on too small a base to handle, or would make a very peculiar-looking close-order formation. All the people I've seen with individually-based 15mm figures are fighting some sort of skirmish. |

My 15mm collection started with figures for Traveller RPG so the first couple of hundred were based individually. Then I discovered Peter Pig's AK47 rules and subsequently Patrols in the Sudan so the next thousand or so were on multiple bases. I then started on the Spanish Civil War also on multiple bases but since the new PP SCW gridded rules came out that period has gone to the back until I can find some rules I like. The figures I am currently painting are for the French Indian Wars or the AWI, here all the figures are individually based to allow them to be used for Musket and Tomahawk but are based on pennies and I have invested in enough Warbases to allow formed and skirmish units on multiple bases. |

All my periods are now on múltiple bases except SYW which are individually based to be used with the old CHARGE rules . They move mostly on sabots but change formation , assault buildings , pass through woods and get removed as casualties as single figures . Old hábits die hard . |

ACW and ancients are multibased. WWII, modern and sci fi are singles. I would say it is about 50/50 at the current time. If everything I own was painted, it would be 70% single and 30% multi. But it all depends on the rules being used. |

0% To my eye they don't look right individually based. |
