I've been speaking with Dave Schmid at Armaments in Miniature. He told me that he currently has masters for the following aircraft: 1) MiG-17 2) A-37 3) F-5A 4) A-1 5) O-2 6) OV-10 The problem is, he doesn't think that there is enough of a market to justify putting them in production. He said that he can get a total commitment of 10 copies for a model, that would cover the cost of the mold materials. So, how many people would be interested in these? I would be good for 2-3 A-1, and 2 each of the A-37 and f-5A, with possibly 1 OV-10. If you want to contact him directly, the website is: armamentsinminiature.com . Also, if the members here would put this out into some other forums, I would appreciate that. I'm also going to post this over at The Wargamer's Website. |

Down for one MiG-17, one A-37 and one OV-10. Thanks for the heads up. Pat |

Pat, Well, that's one more MiG-17 than I thought would sell! Problem is, if none of them get to 10 then it doesn't matter. Did you send your interest to him? |

Well, I already have 3x Skyraiders (though they are technically 1:110 diecasts). I build one plane for each force that used it. So those 3x Spads are USAF, USMC, and USN. I have two A6s, one USN, one USMC. Also have two A7s, one converted to USAF and one USN. planning on 3x F4s, USAF, USN, and USMC. I'd definitely be in for at least 1x OV10 and 1x A37. Not sure how many F5s. But the real hurt is the F100s. Those were one of the primary CAS birds. |

LitS, I got lucky where the F100 is concerned, and found one of the Area 88 models that didn't cost a stupid amount of money. Then I got a set of decals from a fellow who flew them in Vietnam. I think I got the model from him as well. I had one of those 1/110 scale diecast Spads, but just wanted one in 1/100. I did find one on Shapeways, but I'm just not sure on how it's going to turn out. "Polished" still had plenty of tiny divots in the panels. Like you, I want to build one plane for each force that used it. |

I put in for a pair of A-37's an 4 OV-10's. Who could resist the Black Ponies. |

Area 88 had an F100? Time to check Hobbylink Japan! Thanks, Brian! |

LitS, Had may be the operative word. They were put out in the 80's (I think) by Takara. Right now there are three on eBay, if you search for "area 88 F-100". Prices range from $30 USD to $50 USD, not counting shipping. |

I'd want an OV-10, one of these days. |
