Anyone else getting unwanted messages from Ebay?

It started about two weeks ago that I started getting a message a day for about 4 days. The items they suggest I look at were just general items and nothing related to what was in my watch list or buying History.

I duly filled out the questionnaire about three times asking them to stop and telling them the email was not reflecting my interests.

Then they changed and now send me daily emails about Green Light Models. I have filled out the questionnaire and included some colourful language. Now that they just keep coming I have told them that I would be marking everything from Ebay as Spam.

And still they come.

I have now cleared out my watch list and will clear out my Spam folder when it gets a bit full, and won't respond to the questionnaires as its a waste of my time.

Been getting them for a while. Usual shows stuff I would never buy (I look bad in 6" spike heels) I usually give feedback that the message was not useful but it hasn't changed the crap they send me.

I've been getting those for a couple months.

Oh, joy! Something else to look forward to. <Shift out of sarcasm mode>

Not to sound like a crotchety old geezer, but 20 years ago the Internet was new (yes) and fun, with wargaming Yahoo groups, improvised gaming group groups, manufacturers with lovely color catalogs (new things appearing every week), and even a version of TMP. Now, it's hackers, spammers, terrorists, fruit loops, etc. We could at least make fun of the Nigerian Oil Minister e-mails we got.

Rant over.

We were a small, scattered community that linked up for benign purposes.

Once in a while, but not to the point of being annoying. I'm still upset I never got the one about the Nigerian astronaut. I kinda feel left out.

@ KPinder

Post your email address and I am sure you will not get left out any more. grin

Me too.
I just delete the message as soon as it shows up.
It might be interesting to see what they're recommending for me, but Naaaah.

I delete faster than I can read. First step taken every morning….. mark for delete and delete. Wholesale slaughter. Becomes fun wiping out whole clusters of crap email as the tea brews.

Open "Outlook" then delete, delete, delete. The sense of power is overwhelming!

So far, haven't gotten much superfluous in emails, though I may have missed something in the spam folder. But when signed in, the things that are 'suggested' are just ridiculous, and now eBay's started substituting for when I try to open an ended auction.

The crap they pull…

Some years ago there was a Message post in Spanish. Intrigued, I Babelfished it and it ended up being a gamer group inquiry smack dab in HAWKS territory just a few miles away. I composed a response, Babeled it into Spanish, and responded.

I got Spanish spam for close on to a year.

Yeah I get daily "militeria" mail from them.. it's very annoying.

goragrad19 Jun 2018 1:18 p.m. PST

Every couple of days there is another email about a coupon or something ebay thinks might interest.

It all goes away with the other junk email.

Neilad19 Jun 2018 2:18 p.m. PST

I have too. It's only restarted in the last couple of weeks. I think though you will find that if you go into your eBay account you will have a saved search in there. It might be from years ago or one your wife set up on your account some time ago ( my wife is always accessing EBay from my account mistakenly as she jumps on my PC sometimes) if you remove the saved searches, that should stop the messages coming through. For some reason EBay have restarted some of these. They've obviously been making changes.

Computer searches are weird. I was Google searching Eleanor Roosevelt images on Monday. In row 8 was a picture of Kim Kardashian?!?!?

D A THB19 Jun 2018 5:45 p.m. PST

Todays message. 11 New Green light.

I noticed a link to take me to disable this search.

So I have disabled this search as well as the one for Renegade Miniatures?

Syrinx019 Jun 2018 7:09 p.m. PST

Has not begun annoying me yet. Hopefully I can skip it.
