I couldn't stop at a single platoon, so I ended up buying more DAK from Artizan and Black Tree to add to my Perry ones. That means I have two full platoons, and even more support! I ended up liking both Artizan and Black Tree, and I found them to mix extremely well. All three ranges are good value for money IMHO.

Very nice work Setsuko. What's your verdict on figure compatibility (I am to receieve the Perrys) |

Good stuff. I think the North African campaign has moved up to my second favorite WW2 campaign for gaming. My favorite is still the Battle of the Bulge. |

Thanks for the kind remarks! repaint: I was surprised by how similar the Artizan and Black Tree are, I had to check the website to tell them apart once painted. They are noticable different from the Perrys – you won't mistake them for each other as Perry's are slimmer and have slightly different proportions. I Think it's a personal taste if you think they work with the other two brands or not. Myself, I have no problem mixing them, and I think that they'll work great when they hit the table. But I'm also generally quite happy with mixing brands, so keep that in mind. To me, it was a great opportunity to add a lot of support options for the DAK and add some variety to the force. Sudwind: Indeed, we started out with Barbarossa and played that for two years, so getting into the desert is very refreshing with a completely different colour palette. Highly recommended! :) |

Excellent paintwork. I just finished Perry's 8th Army box combining it with a Rubicon Crusader for a CoC platoon. I used Artizan packs for the Vickers HMGs and some extra command. I have Italians so Africa Korps is next. |
