I am thinking Orange Beach, the attack by Lord Lovat's No. 4 Commando, plus 50 US Rangers, on coastal battery Hess might be a good scenario. The rest of the operation was a sad waste of Canadian lives.

I've walked a Green Beach, and what looks on the map to be difficult is – in truth – almost impossible. The shingle beach is impossible to run on (even walking is difficult!) and the river – which looks narrow – has been canalised, with steep vertical sides. It can only be crossed by the bridge … which was covered by several machine gun positions.
