Lately I was mulling over gaming Cold War era scenarios with Pico Armor. Does anyone do this and if so how do you like using the 3mm scale in this time period?

I've seen photos of Pico tanks but how do you find their sculpting quality?

What miniatures rules play well with the Cold War and the Pico 3mm scale?

Thanks!

see tinytanks3mm.blogspot.com He seems to prefer Fist Full of Tows 3 as do I.
Almost any rule set will work with pico armor. It just depends on what scale ratio you want to use for the vehicles such as 1:1, a unit/base represents a platoon, or more.

I really like these minis. I think they look best deployed enmasse on diorama style stands…representing a battalion or more per stand.

The minis are stunning, such lovely figures for such small models!

They are great for multi basing too and that looks great in Fist Full of Tows

5core company commander fits the bill for me.

I love them and have been basing them for 5Core Brigade Commander.

I haven't checked but is it easy to find terrain and buildings in the 3mm scale?

Some people use the houses & motels from Monopoly games. There is an endless supply of those.

As cheap as they are, you can order a small sampling of them and have them in your hands in a few days. I am happy with the detail on them. They are quite nice for their scale. You can't get GHQ type detail on minis that are half the size, but they are really nice.

Thanks for all the input!

I'm on the fence myself between the Pico 3mm versus the GHQ 6mm minis. The Pico is cheap but the 3mm look "lumpy" to me. The GHQ have sharper detail but are more expensive to buy. Decisions, decisions …

I have a ton of 1/600 and base at 1:1 with a platoon on a base. They look great and are definitely easier on the pocket than Micro Armor.

Pico Armor is great! They also sell buildings.

If there is a problem with buildings AOTRS Shipyards could be pursusded to make some 3D printed ones. Just say what you needed and how many and you could get lucky. UK is best US the problem with postage may be off putting.
