I have been known to sing "A Mighty Fortress" during SYW games when I unleash Prussian Grenadiers. And who hasn't whistled Garyowen or sung Men of Harlech at the appropriate time? |

I sing while I'm doing pretty much everything… Welsh genes… |

I make noises with my mouth. By sheer happenstance, sometimes, it coincides with a beat. |

At an HistoriCon over ten years past, that fine Aussie Gentleman, Mr. Gerry Webb of Castaway Arts, ran a TSATF scenario based on the climactic battle at the end of the all time classic film, "Gunga Din." I was given the Thug Guru's command (with several appropriately evil fellow Thugs as subordinates), but was asked to perform a small service by Gerry. The units were all placed, the Thug ambush cocked and loaded, with the British Column marching into the trap. Only a die roll that timed the moment when Gunga Din began to blow "To Arms!" needed to be made--and at that critical point, I was cued to sing "Will Ye No Come Back Again?" I wasn't a column of the Black Watch in full manly throat, but my performance was enough to rattle other games going on around us. After that, the closest thing to "singing" in that game was all we Thug players wailing "Kah-leeee!" every time we got a good die roll. Oh, and The Bugler tipped off the column at the first possible moment, even sooner than in the film, and the Highlanders and Bengal Lancers ended up hammering us like a red-headed stepchild. Magic times…. TVAG |

My friends have pointed out to me that when things start going well for me in-game I start to sing a made-up song about the events in progress, and I dance to my song. That I have no singing or dancing talent makes this a comedic, sometimes horrific petformance. |

Because I like, respect, and want to keep my friends, I refrain from singing at all times when others are present. (There is an exception for singing German drinking songs while my classmates and I are all drunk and all singing.) I did, however, recently have the occasion to have my phone play a recording of Ride of the Valkyries for my fellow RPG players as our battleship exited jump space into what we expected to be a major battle. |

very badly my friends like it when I sing solo (so low they can't hear) or tenor (ten or so miles away) |

TVAG, that is a great post. I smile just thinking about it. As for our games, "Men of Harlech" or very bad renditions of "La Marseillaise" have erupted at tense moments, depending which theatre is the subject at hand. |

Everytime I have German Tanks, I stomp my feet and sing Panzerlied. If I play Allies, I hum the tune from A Bridge Too Far when XXX Corps tanks cross Nijmegen bridge. Phil |
