Hello, (-->This is not a rule CONTEST, informed opinion and facts would be appreciated) I have been playing quite a lot Bolt Action that I am enjoying quite a lot as a light game, but I was wondering about the damage model for Chain of Command. To better understand, would you mind sharing how an infantry squad is affected respectively by: -a german LMG -a US cal 50 -a german AA 2cm I am asking about these specific weapons because in BA, -a german LMG has 6 hit dice -a US cal 50 has 3 hit dice -a german AA 2cm has 2 hit dice All weapon give on "pin" on the unit if the throws hit at least once, infantry is hit on a +3 and then dies on a +4 thank you |

In CoC you have: -Magazine fed LMG – 6 dice -German LMG (any belt fed MG) – 8 dice -US .50 cal – 10 dice -1 to level of cover. Also has a small AT value. - 2cm AA – has 6 HE dice which act similar to what the MGs dice are like. It also reduces cover. - 2cm Quad AA – has 12 value. |

thanks Neal, and I take that a successful hit put as many "shocks" on the unit, correct? |

Also 2cm AA hits better on a 4,5 or 6, not on the target's quality. |

Repaint: in coc, first you roll for "hits", then you roll the # of dice that "hit" with the result being either 1) no effect, 2) a point of "shock" applied to target group, 3) a figure killed in the targeted group. |

Yeah, it's a little different as Saltflats & Windward explained. It all depends on range (MGs to hit, HE 4+) and effect (based on level of cover). That's why I mentioned the higher caliber weapons start reducing cover and makes it easier to do shocks (pins in BA)/kills. A bit of history… BA used to only give MGs 3 dice! Everyone started leaving them out of their builds because they weren't cost effective for the build. Not how they were used historically. BA 2nd Ed upped it to 6. :) |

Actually Windward a 2cm gun has a close and effective range as well. It is the only heavy weapon that does. |
