How often do you play miniature wargames with your offspring?

CorroPredo01 Jun 2018 5:09 p.m. PST

Since school is out, almost daily.

My youngest son is 35. We still play games together. Occasional miniatures, but he's a terrific board game and regular kicks my ass.

Geesh. How many children do you guys have, to be using them in place of miniature figures???

Dan
PS. You'd need to have 32 just to play a proper chess match. Well, 16 of them yours, if the opponent brings 16 children of his own:

No kids, so never.

My 11 year old daughter is a big X-Wing fan, so we try to get at least one game in every weekend.

Was weekly before they went to college. Now that they are grown, once a month at game day. Occasionally other times. And if they go to a con with us, but often, we will all play different games with different people … kind of the point of going to a con.

I have two at 8 and 10 years old. We play about a game a week. Some of them are board games, almost always with minis. About half the time is a straight up war game. The boys like All Quiet on the Martian Front, Blood and Plunder, Saga, and Battletech. We have some great CW figures that we still haven't really gotten a good rule set for, but we have fun slinging dice.

Some of the out of the box wargames, like Sails of Glory, Star Trek Attack Wing and the like, make their way onto the table as well.

So, I guess the answer is often.

frequently. 2-3 times a month at least

0 … AFAIK I don't have any "offsprings/clones" …

KSmyth02 Jun 2018 12:24 p.m. PST

We usually play every six weeks or so. More often if we can. Casey is great with my friends, and we all enjoy hanging out together.

That reminds me we haven't played a front-yard-person-sized-kaiju-shipping-box-building game in a while …

With No 2 and 3 sons, every four months or so – not often enough but work gets in the way

With No 4 son, once a month or so – every couple of months with the grandkids

Whirlwind03 Jun 2018 10:12 a.m. PST

About once a month on average

Allen5703 Jun 2018 1:24 p.m. PST

Board games 4-5 times/year but they may not be wargames. Miniatures, never. My daughter and two grandchildren have no interest.

ToysnSoldiers04 Jun 2018 1:40 a.m. PST

With my eldest. The other doesn't like historicals. He prefers gaming X-Wing, Necromunda or the last rage, Star Wars: Legion, with his mates.
