Does anyone play 28mm Sci-Fi games with large units (battalions/regiments/brigades)and not the skirmish level of 40k? |

I normally play battles with 40 to 60 infantry, 6 major armored vehicles, 4 to 6 wardrones, plus heavy support weapons, air power and command staff on each side. Battles can get larger than that when more than one battlegroup is involved on each side. |

Does anyone play 28mm Sci-Fi games with large units (battalions/regiments/brigades) Hmm, would be hard to do with 28mm due to miniature size. 6mm, 10mm & 15mm might be better since you can really get bigger units onto the table. |

I normally play battles with 40 to 60 infantry, 6 major armored vehicles, 4 to 6 wardrones, plus heavy support weapons, air power and command staff on each side. So basically a beefed up platoon or under strength company action. to have a Brigade/Division level type of battle you are going to need far more miniatures. |

Perhaps he plays 1 to 10 so 40 figures is 400 troops |

are there rules for large scale engagements – say a scaled down brigade a side? |

I don't put usually large forces of 25mm/28mm figures on a Traveller/StarGrunt table. Two infantry platoons per side is pretty good for that kind of game. That being said, I do actually have a complete company-sized Zhodani unit, including a cross-attached platoon of Sword Worlders, two types of warbots, and gcarriers. I once got most of the company onto a table at a convention a few years ago, and it worked pretty well. There were six or seven players for a cooperative game. The table was oversized, like 6ft x 8ft. I ran the Imperials and other events. |
