How closely do your Warhammer/Age of Sigmar armies follow the official Games Workshop background? |

Very closely when I play in that genre. Of course, I don't actually use the GW rules to play games in its genre's milieu. |

I don't really even know what's canon anymore. My games of Age of Sigmar still take place during The Realmgate Wars, because that is the fiction I have read and know. With 40k, well the only canon I know is "There is only War." So we fight and fight and fight… etc. |

There is no Age of Sigmar. There is only the Old World. |

My WH forces are closely pretty closely tied to 3rd edition-era builds- the original Warhammer Armies and Realms of Chaos, etc. I have some AoS stuff, but haven't put much thought into the issue one way or another. |

Made my own up years ago- so not really…It is upposed to be 'fantasy' is it not? When Wrahammer first came out in the 80's you were actually encouraged to make up your own worlds and armies and even (the horror) use historical figures! |

Warmaster, not Warhammer, but the same world so I'll answer in any case. My Empire force is a mix of official Reikland units and generic white coated regiments. Some official knightly orders and some of my own design. Then there are the allied contingent units from neighboring provinces and cities. The other painted armies* do not follow the official background. *Araby (there wasn't much to follow), Dark Elves, Dwarfs, Lizardmen and Skaven. |

As much as I can. My WFB army is a Middenheim army, mostly the blue of Middenheim, supported by some Nuln handgunenrs and cannon cockers, plus Stirland Archers. Knights of the White Wolf, plus a priest of Ulric for feels. I have models for more regiments from other states, but will keep the biggest units Middenheim. A little harder with Elves. I debated doing a lion force from whichever area the White Lions were from, but never did. Both my High Elves and Wood elves are fairly generic. Bretonnians are from Paravon and have a lord on Pegasus, plus a 5 man Pegasus unit and as many pegasi decals on the knights as I can. |
