Orz is now *dancing* in this *playground*. Orz wants *happy campers* to be *friends.* Orz looks for *weak places* for *fingers.*

Too bad Bill does not share Orz IP address…

Sorry…I took the above to be bogus text indicative of hacker-insanity. Put me on the defensive.

Orz says *no problem*. *Campers* is *happy*. Orz is not *dancing*.

He's an incompresible alien! Nuke him from orbit – its the only way to be sure!

Oh, sure, the Minbari *say* that opening the weapons ports is a show of friendship, but I say its all part of a vast alien conspiracy.

I'm just relieved he didn't mean there were going to be new episodes with Joey, Phoebe, Chandler, Monica, Ross and Rachel…

TredHedJon11 Jul 2005 7:55 p.m. PST

Hey there could be new episodes of Freinds….I can see it now….

Joey and Phobe come home to find that Morbo and Alf have eaten the kittens they rescued the day before……

Just a twit seeking attention. I get the same type in my lower level grade 8 class. They eventually grow up…some faster than others.

What have you got against Aliens that talk nonsense huh????

emau9912 Jul 2005 10:41 a.m. PST

@Sockpuppet: The *campers* are not *happy*. They do not seem to be *dancing*.

@Everybody else: This refers to the video game "Star Control 2" (one of the best games ever, imho). The race known as the ORZ had faulty translators, making everything they said sound bizzare.

cloudcaptain12 Jul 2005 11:00 a.m. PST

Ah…thank you Emau. Some where in the back of my head it was setting of a twinge.

Sargonarhes12 Jul 2005 2:59 p.m. PST

Which aliens were the ORZ? I remember the Ur'Quan, the Yeehat the VUX (very ugly xenoform, who's ships looked very Klingonish (is that even a word)), and the little fur balls that would blow themselves up.

No memory of the ORZ.

I have the nukes in place…

Just send in John's newest karaoke machine in and I'll fire away.

The Orz didn't appear until Starcon2. They were an extradimensional race that somehow got rid of the Androsynth; we don't know how, though it is suggested that the Orz either destroyed them or absorbed them somehow. Or maybe the Androsynth became the Orz.

We know that Orz and Arilou have a mutual dislike. The Orz are also supposed to be so alien that translators do not work well, so we only get approximations of their intent from their speech.

I imagine more about them was revealed in Starcon3, but I never played that game.

Say, good point.

Anybody who played Starcon3, was the Orz/Androsynth mystery ever resolved? If so, how?

wminsing13 Jul 2005 5:28 a.m. PST

I can tell from the responses that a lot of people have never played Star Control 2. You guys don't know what you're missing, this is a true classic! Do yourselves a favor and download the new public release and give it a whirl: sc2.sourceforge.net

@noimreallynotasockpuppet- No, in Starcon 3 they never resolved that issue at all, or any of the other plot hooks that Star Control 2 left. Truth be told, Starcon 3 pales in comparison to Starcon 2. It has some strong points, but it doesn't measure up, in terms of story or gameplay.

Yeah, SC2 is one of the better video games ever! Definitely in my top 10, probably in my top 5.
