These aren't the stormtroopers that you're looking for. In fact, it looks like the Imperial Army may be part of the cannon now.

I hear the term mudtooper tossed around like they are some sort of stormtrooper variant on-line, but then you have this bit from Solo:

Solo points out at 00:20 in that Woody and the lady aren't Imperial Army! Toss in the recruiter pointing out that most applicants wind up in the INFANTRY…

These guys do look like the images that we've seen of Imperial Army troops and they appear to call themselves that too.

Or are they just another corps of Stormtroopers?

I didn't get that impression that they were a special force trained to fight in muddy conditions. They look like regular grunts who have to embrace the suck of trench style war on some backwater world that the Empire wants secured.

So, Imperial Army anyone???

Agreed. Someone make a figure!

Yup. Those are definitely Imperial Army. That waa a cool scene.

Given the life expectancy of the "elite" stormtroopers…

Ron

P.S. Maybe they should have their own film.

Poor Han. He signed up to become "the best pilot in the galaxy" but got thrown into the meat-grinder as a poor bloody infantryman instead.

Too bad his cute girlfriend – spoilers ahead – turned to the Dark Side.

Definitely Imperial Army grunts. I really enjoyed their slug through the muck and mire. They reminded me a bit of these guys from Wargames Factory:

T3, save 6+, BS3. Yep, possibly even worse than the 'armored' peons…

Unfortunately the Wargames Factory greatcoat troopers are OOP at the moment…hopefully Warlord adds them to their stuff at some point.

The OOP 'Dust Tactics' or 'Dust Warfare' Axis squads would work as good proxies too.
