Did they inherit "superhuman" powers* from their 4-legged goat/sheep ancestors? Would they even need to carry weapons of any kind? Dan * Massive strength? Mind control abilities? Ninja-like agility?

I've not seen any supporting evidence, but I would guess that goatmen would be as susceptible to drone strikes as humans are. |
Bashytubits | 27 May 2018 6:05 p.m. PST |
Not really, if they act anything like the goats we had on our ranch they would be easy to beat, being obnoxious does not get you a win on the battlefield.

Second image is not a goat but sheep. |

I always thot goats were only effective against trolls |
Cacique Caribe | 27 May 2018 7:01 p.m. PST |
@Jeff Ewing LOL. True. Didn't they both, sheeps and goats, have the same ancestors until the late Neolithic? @Bashytubits That's only if you have the narcolepsy gene. I doubt any army would enlist anyone with that problem. :) Dan |
Max Schnell | 27 May 2018 7:07 p.m. PST |
Great footing, fearless and mean. They can live off the land. Not a bad army! |
Zephyr1 | 27 May 2018 8:26 p.m. PST |
They'd be defenseless against The Men Who Stare At Goats (referencing the book and movie… ;-) |

The satyrs of Greek myth were noted as wild and ferocious chargers but also as quick at running away. |
Cyrus the Great | 27 May 2018 9:08 p.m. PST |
Goats are a herd animal like sheep and can be sheared like sheep. |
Dn Jackson | 27 May 2018 11:30 p.m. PST |
Plus they'd eat the enemy's armor and weapons. |

Pull the udder one…. The Nanny State would protect them. |
Legion 4 | 28 May 2018 7:19 a.m. PST |
Well you not only could kill them … But eat them too ! BTW, Some of my 6mm "Goatmen", i.e. Beastmen with my Chaos forces …
|
Cacique Caribe | 28 May 2018 12:00 p.m. PST |
Combine them with some bovine men Allies, and you might end up,with something a bit like this: sharetv.com/watch/374369 Dan |

If they kept their progenitor's digestion, they would be tough to dislodge from a siege. |
etotheipi | 29 May 2018 4:29 p.m. PST |
Damn straight they would …
… but they don't need bovine allies, just some of their deer friends. OK … the cows can come, too!
|
Bashytubits | 29 May 2018 10:27 p.m. PST |
Well etotheipi, I am NEVER going to undergo gene therapy while you are in the neighborhood. |
Legion 4 | 30 May 2018 6:05 a.m. PST |
WDF !?!?!? |
tsofian | 30 May 2018 6:45 a.m. PST |
They would not stand a chance against any force that was well supplied with curry or jerk spices |
Old Wolfman | 30 May 2018 7:06 a.m. PST |
Would they be led by Jim Breuer's "Goat Boy"? ;^) |
tsofian | 30 May 2018 5:03 p.m. PST |
They will get a major plus vs any troll armies |
Baconheimer | 11 Jul 2018 6:15 p.m. PST |
Well if they still have horns I imagine they're very good at melee fighting. Incidentally, I ordered both Fantasy and Science Fiction Goatmen from Irregular Miniatures just yesterday, |
Cacique Caribe | 11 Jul 2018 6:57 p.m. PST |
Baconheimer Maybe the Fantasy ones could be a more primitive culture in that solar system, and the SF ones could either fight them or recruit them as auxiliaries to fight a different rival. Dan |
Baconheimer | 11 Jul 2018 7:58 p.m. PST |
Cacique Caribe, I intended them to be used separately, but that's a very good idea. The Science Fiction ones are going to be a mercenary unit, though I had nothing especially planned for the Fantasy ones. |
