Does anyone have a handle on the scale of issue of the Mk III Turtle helmet from D-day onwards? Been watching World at War and the D-day footage shows a mix with some units appearing to have exclusively Mk III's and others all Battle Bowlers and some show a mix within the same unit.

The MkIII Helmet was issued primarily to the British Normandy assault units, and the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.
Some were issued to the 2nd and 4th Canadian's.
However there are many photographs of mixed usage within some units down to the lowest level, from D-day on.
MkIV was post war.
