"Dave Docherty exhibited a great looking western game with a very large number of cattle on show waiting to board a great looking train. The whole game was a terrific advert for the hobby in general…."

Question: The tittle is "General Store" or "General Stores"?

Today, the common usage would be "General Store," but the language was not as standardized during the 19th century. "General Stores" is both grammatically correct and makes sense, since the word "store" can refer to either the shop or a supply of something, i.e., a product or item for sale within the shop in that context.

I like it.
