The hats are interesting.

Marvelous basing. What are you using for grass?

nevinsrip24 May 2018 2:25 p.m. PST

Rally, I blend at least two, sometimes four or five, different colors and lengths of Heki and Noch static grasses. Those are a mix of mainly 10 mm (75 %),
some 12 mm (15%) and a bit of 6 mm (10%).
Color blend is by season.
I mainly use Wildgrass, because it's an all purpose grass.

All of it was applied with a 20 dollar static grass applicator, made from am electric fly swatter, bought from Ebay.

Damn, 23RD. That's so close.

What part did I get right?

Lieutenant Lockwood24 May 2018 8:11 p.m. PST

Perhaps the Volunteers of Ireland? The Óglaigh na hÉireann, if you will?

Winston Smith24 May 2018 8:35 p.m. PST

There's such a mix of "normal" and Saratoga hats. The drummer doesn't have lace all over the place, only reversed colors.
So…..
Some Loyalist unit?
Greene's Loyal Royal Johnsons?

nevinsrip24 May 2018 9:21 p.m. PST

OK so 23 rd guessed Saratoga and that's right.
OFM said a Loyalist Unit and that's also correct.

I'm working on the flags. The plastic poles are too short.

Meet Jessup's King's Loyal Americans.

Nice work 23 rd and OFM.

I got part of the question right (i.e. Saratoga). Outstanding figures and a very nice representative of a loyalist regiment.

Your ground cover is most impressive. Having been detailed to Saratoga NHP for various black powder events (1980's and 90's) I have walk the entire battlefield. The ground cover you did looked exactly like the ground cover around the Barber wheat field (second battle site) at the time of the 7th October action. The entire scene reminded me of walking across the field with one of the recreated regiments.

Well done sir!

Thanks 23 rd.

I spent many summers in the Lake George Region when I were a lad. This is how I remember it.
