How do these two compare to one another? Is the size difference noticeable? Is there a problem with using say a PZ IV from one company with T34s from the other company?

I have a mix of 1/56, 1/50 and 1/48 scale AFVs and I have found that there is a noticeable difference between 1/50 and 1/48, especially if you mix scales of the same type of tank in the same unit. A 1/48 scale PzIV and a 1/50 scale PzIV will look odd in the same unit.

However, if the tanks are different scales but in homoegneous units -- say a unit of all 1/48 PzIVs vs a unit of all 1/50 T-34s, it will look OK.

This is how I have done it:

*1/56 resin for small tanks and AFVs

*1/50 diecast (solido/verem/corgi) for most of my medium tanks

*1/48 model kits or hobbyboss pre-paints for my heavy tanks

The size difference is noticable. Even Corgi and Solido both claiming 1/50 scale are not exact matches. Would you throw them out of bed for eating cookies? That's personal preference.
I mix 1/50 and 1/48, but my eye finds 1/56 too small unless its a different class of vehicle or across the table.

Between Solido/Verem/Tank Museum and Blitzkrieg I would definitely choose the latter.

I started out with Solido/Verem/Tank Museum models for 28mm WWII skirmish gaming back in the days of Easy Eight's Battleground WWII when they were the "only game in town," but have since moved on to better things because compared to newer alternatives available in 1:48/1:50 their detail and accuracy are no longer good enough. Another thing I never liked is their oversized chunky metal tracks, and many of the Solido models are actually 1:43.

Today, my tank and vehicle collection consists entirely of 1:48 plastic or resin kits (Tamiya, Hobby Boss, AFV Club, Skybow, Bronco, Blitzkrieg, Ken Swenson models) and a few pre-built and repainted 1:48 or 1:50 diecasts (Hobby Master, 21st Century/Classic Armor Diecast, Corgi).

While the selection and quality of 1:56 is unmatched, to me they just don't look right with my heroic 28mm figure collection comprising mostly of Artisan Designs and Crusader minis.

And only go with Gaso.Line if they're not Solido conversions. You can tell whether they are or not by looking at the tracks. If they have the chunky metal tracks then they're Solido conversions.

Never liked the Solido tracks either.

Forgot to mention that another source of 1/48 is 1st Corps. They have a nice line of Russian tanks.

Thanks guys. Looks like Blitzkrieg will be my missing PZ IVs.
