Nice work indeed. Molto bello!

… they can fight every other force I have … specifically, they can face off against the Americans, Germans and Soviets. So they are really the utility force in my collection.

Well, I don't know what all forces you have in that box of yours, but even if you don't have 'em in your own forces box you can certainly also bring 'em on the table against Brits. And don't let anyone tell you not to put your Italians in their continental uniforms up against the 8th Army. Just set it up as a Tunisian scenario -- lots of the units that came over to join Von Armin's forces (and even Rommels in the last stages) did not get their tropical uniforms before shipping out.

And the French. Don't forget the French! You can fight them in the Alps or on the Riviera in 1940, and again in Tunisia in 1943. You'll feel a lot better about your M14/40 and Semoventi da 75 if you are facing off with a couple of R35s, D1s or an S35!

I too built an Italian force, in Continental uniforms, for that same reason. I needed an "opposition" army, for those occasions where you have to provide both sides. And sure enough they have become one of my preferred forces, rather than just a force to hand over to an opponent.

Great job. What make are the figures? (Sorry if I missed it!)

Dukewilliam22 May 2018 7:58 a.m. PST

Thanks for the kind words, men.

GF, the figures are from Warlord. It's the 500 point starter army.

Manly Hugs,
Steve

Nice work. What color did you use for the uniforms?

Dukewilliam23 May 2018 5:11 a.m. PST

Saltflats:

Vallejo 70.869 Basalt Grey as recommended in the Warlord tutorial.
