If you cant beat 'em, join 'em.

Is there a book out or a website which has good scenarios for small scale actions?

I have several of Charles Grant's books on the SYW which I can obviously cannibalize for the AWI.

But, and it's a BIG but, is there a good source for AWI scenarios? I am lazy and just wanted it all nicely packaged with a bow on it.

Look up the scenario books for British Grenadier at Partizan Press or On Military Matters.

+1 for British Grenadier scenario books.

Oh good, I order from both places all the time.

Cheers.

The nice thing about those books is that you don't need British Grenadier tules to play them. You get a fine OOB, strengths and ratings and good maps.
I use them all the time for different rules sets.

Also the Black Powder Rebellion book has scenarios.
These are for proper "battles", which are still small compared to Europe.
If you want skirmishes you can look at the scenario books for Sharp Practice in the Too Far Lardies website. These are mostly <100 figs a side.

+2 for British Grenadier scenarios books. They are a wonderful resource for this wonderful period. Worth every penny.

For small action ideas, try the Guides to the American Revolution books (by region)
written by Norman Desmarais (available on amazon). He has compiled a vast amount of information on just about every incident in the war.

How small of a scale are you looking at? If "Large Skirmish / Small battle" you can try the Swamp Fox scenario book from Too Fat Lardies. I have not bought it yet, but is on my list, even though I don't intend to use them with Sharp Practice.

thank you for mentioning these. I was not aware of them. Just had the other library loan desk order them.

The British Grenadier scenarios are a great reference but I would caution that you should back it up with your own research and other scenarios. Some information in BG is in my opinion, incorrect. The most glaring example is "Hubbardton, Save the Guns" as I can fine no evidence of artillery at that battle. So I wrote my own scenario.

That being said, there are some very good scenarios in the BG books. They are a must have.
