I am a bit sick of resin, wood or plastic terrain and buildings. Recently I tried buildings in HDF and kind of like them.

Any other makers that meet wargaming expectations?

What's HDF exactly?

Dan, I think it means High Density Foam. Those buildings are quite nice, but are not hollow, at least the ones I have.

It expanding polyurethane foam, whether its high density or not is a matter of how much you put in the mould and formulation of the material. There are several companies that make scenery from this material (us included) and generally it is difficult to cast something hollow unless you have quite thick walls. Zeiterdes does some, but the walls are around 20mm thick. It makes the interiors rather small or the building rather big. The material's great advantages are that it is light and robust. You done get a hernia lugging it around and it doesn't shatter if you drop it.

I think some of the Blue Moon buildings are HDF, I haven't ordered any though.

HDF also stands for High Density Fibreboard as oppposed to Medium Density Fibre board (MDF). Micro Art Studio has a bunch of Infinity terrain made from both HDF as well as Hardfoam however I suspect that what they call HDF is what most manufacturers refer to as MDF.
