Hi everyone,
I have some miniatures, but I really dont know who made them and I dont have enough miniatures to form full regiments. I would really appreciate help.

I think the empress dragoon is from old glory, but the cuirasser and hussar are a mystery

Cheers

These are 15mm I take it?

marshalGreg18 May 2018 12:10 p.m. PST

First one I cannot see
Second one looks to be 2nd or 3rd generation minfig French Cuirassier at rest.
Third looks to be AB Empress dragoons charging or could be used as early war French dragoons.

Yes, they are 15mm.

There is a better pic of that hussar: oi63.tinypic.com/14v48qw.jpg
and cuirasser

Also, I´m beginner, I have just a few miniatures, mostly Blue Moon. And since I dont have enough minis to build regiments out of these, should I consider completely discard them and buy complete new regiments from one company?

And when we are at buying… I saw a few old glory miniatures with sabres and they look like they will break of at any time. Is that normal? Or what company would you suggest?

Minifig 2's cavalry are two piece, the horse does look like it. I only have Prussian and Russian so don't know about French figures. Looking closer the Cuirassier is a two piece and the horse definitely is looking like mine.

I don' know about the first figure but the second looks like Newline but they're 20mm so if it's 15mm perhaps it's CGM; the third looks like Old Glory (15mm).

Get shouldered sabres, cant break off.

Early Battle Honours. When Anthony Barton designed, but the company was owned by Danny Boreham.(that scoundrel). ??????

I think it's all how you treat them, I have had 15mm figures since 1981 and have very few break offs out of 5,000 figures.

Hussar fantassin… Now in uk.
Dragon gesticulating might be old glory
Cuirassier Campaign games. Horse characteristic, one of his 3-4.

The Minifigs cav. with the shouldered sabers against their bodies were an awesome design IMO.

That's entirely up to you. Some people don't like mixing manufacturers or only mix certain brands or ranges within brands. Others happily mix manufacturers. Look at any figures you get the opportunity to view and compare them for style as much as for size. Also look at this link for some comparisons of different figures – there will be others around too I'm sure.

Cheers,
John
