Those are terrific. Have you considered decorating the elephants? I don't know how far back the tradition goes:

Thanks Jeff, yes I'm painting some of the superb Aventine Indian elephants at the moment and will definitely do some with decoration. Duncan Head in his AMPW book (p.182) says they seem to sometimes have been painted but that it may not have been that common.
