This is Marlene Dietrich month on Turner Classic Movies and I watched "Shanghai Express" and "Morocco" Thursday night. I think both would work extremely well for a small TSATF game, especially "Shanghai Express" set during Chinese Civil War in the late 1920's-early 1930's. Being that Dad always credited Hollywood as an inspiration for the rules, has anyone used a non-Colonial film as a scenario? Sgt. Guinness regularly runs a rousing game based on "The Wind and The Lion" and Ken Hafer ran a great "Across the Pacific" on an ocean liner scale model at Heat of Battle several years ago. Anyone else care to share? |

I Once did a TSATF game of Romans invading Britain. The British this time where the natives, while the Romans were the colonial power. I thought it was a nice turnaround for the BRITs. But maybe this doesn't qualify, as it is a colonial game :-) |

Speaking of China, how about The Sand Pebbles? Ron |

Ron, I had forgotten about "The Sand Pebbles". I've seen it played at a con before and there was even a Jake Holman figure that was pretty close to Steve McQueen…… |

I watched a mini series on Netflix named Morrocco regarding the 1920 Spanish war in The Rif. I am slowly working on building up a group of figures for the era in 6mm. |

I've read about and seen photos from at least a few GUNGA DIN games using TSATF -- everything from the classic village skirmish "Battle for Tantrapur" to the big combined arms battle that serves as the action finale for the movie. Some day I hope to play in one! |
