I was at Little Wars in Lombard Il. a couple weeks ago. My son and I played in a 1984ish game featuring Soviet vs. U.S. forces using a Rapid Fire variant. Neither of us had played the system before. We had a great time and met some good guys.
The rules captured the feel of the period, and clipped along at a good pace. Even I figured out the charts! The figures were all nicely painted, terrain excellent. I'll chalk this one up as a good convention game.

You can download them here Rapid Fire! 'Able Archer 83-84' Cold War Rules Adaptation. Bottom of the page. Hope it helps.

As always, comments are appreciated.

Take care
