I do have a lot of 1/600th ships. Find them a bit too small now, maybe eyes not up to it.
I was thinking for the Pacific, as it is mostly either a fleet attacked by planes or a night ( closer distances) engagements on table, 1/4800 or 1/2400?

Tempted even by redoing all in 1/4800 but are they so much bigger (yes I know 1/4 th but there is nothing like pics) ?

Their prices, all these 3D printing stuff, ends quite expensive and I am not looking forward a lot of cutting, cleaning, messing.

Any help?

I assume you meant you have a lot of 1/6000th ships – I doubt moving to 1/4800th will really a big difference but 1/2400th will be much easier to see/paint. If you want to see some try the photos in "Saga of Painting WTJ Ships – Part 1" Topic in the Naval Gaming 1898-1929 Message Board (one of the World War One Message Boards). They will cost more but I find Panzerschiffe are good value – not the best models but at much lower prices and more than enough detail for anything my eyes can see.

Thinking of a mix of wgHQ, pz Schiffe, 3D print. Easier, but need not miss the painting, unforgiving.
Ok early pPacific are rather simple😋

Good, 1/4800 not worth redoing possibly. Although a Dd become the scale of a cruiser in 6000? Better to paint.
Other player has tons ogf 6000 too but fantasy painted.

I'd stick with your 1/6000, and try to address the visibility issues. If expense is an issue for you, larger scales will not help. Have you tried:

(1) Adding temporary additional lighting to the gaming table. LED bulbs don't produce much heat.

(2) Getting a pair of bifocals, or a pair of glasses adjusted for your typical game viewing distance.

Might keep 1/6000 for Europe as most often daytime, and convoys etc. need space, even if I do have a lot.
And the Brits camo are unforgiving to paint. Maybe best not to try first.

Looked at many printed, 1/2400 they look very good, no soft fiddly guns and in the end are not so expensive.
I have the 4 Japanese greys, and the US in 42 are nicely easy. Might do Pacific in 1/2400. I have some already, it does look good.
Will have to sell the small ones maybe.
