Fantasy Flight Games has announced two new Unit Expansions for the Star Wars: Legion miniature game:

Boba Fett, and
Scout Troopers.

The biggest revelation is that Boba Fett is a new unit type called an operative. Every army can have up to two operatives, (who work independently from an army's commanders).

I wonder how many people will fail to read the fine print and buy this thinking it is painted as shown on the box contents shot?

I'd buy in if the minis did come painted. Easier to justify the high price of the starter set then. I may just wait for the 2nd edition so I don't have to buy conversion kits when they change the bases and stats!

I was once in a GW store and a mother there with her son were looking at some boxes of 40K miniatures. They were all set to buy, when the redshirt suggested some painting supplies. She was taken aback, apparently unaware the miniatures had to be painted. They both walked out, without a purchase, probably to go buy a videogame.

I believe that the back of the box shows the unpainted version, the other is just artwork…

But the laid out models show painted models. Fairly deceptive to me. Id but them painted as well, no time for unpainted crap.

These figures look brilliant. Three boxes for me.

I love this game and I'm loving all the expansions that are coming out. The figures are really well done in my opinion, and I think the scale is awesome.

As far as it being "deceptive" that they're not painted-

Ummmmmm…seriously? We're wargamers here! What wargaming product do you know of where the company doesn't show a painted version of their product on the box cover?

Grenadier, Games Workshop, Reaper, Mantic, Fireforge, etc. etc. They ALL show painted models on their box covers, yet you have to paint all of their products.

How is this any different?

As far as not buying them because of this reason- you really expect a Boba Fett miniature to be painted at that level of detail, and to come with the cards and tokens…for $12.95 USD? Seriously? Or the 7 models that come in the scout trooper box. You seriously expect 7 painted models for $24.95 USD? Not sure what world you're living in.
