Looking for US retailers that sell this scale.

I know there are plastic model kits, but I'd like to avoid the fiddity kinds. Something like PSC kits would be more ideal, but not sure who makes these in this scale. I know Warlord Games makes them but the price tag is kinda scary.

Any recommendations for infantry?

Thanks

What forces are you looking for?

Edit: You mentioned plastic without being fiddly. IMO they almost all are to some extent. The exception would be PSC, but their range in 28mm is limited. If you decide to go metal, these are good options.

If you're interested in Late War US and Germans, Brigade Games has a nice complete range with squad packs and support weapons. They also have a very extensive range of Pacific theater USMC and Japanese as well as Chinese.

If you are looking for early war, you can't beat Crusader miniatures. They have French, Poles, Germans, SS, FJ, Soviets. They have really nice mid and late war Brits.

Crusader go nicely with Artizan Designs. I'm not a fan of their late war Germans (I don't like the MG-42 model). Though they are redoing a lot of their stuff and the newer Soviets and Panzer Lehr are pretty nice.

Those are all metal, and if you get them through Brigade and Age of Glory, you should save some money.

For 28 mm WWII plastic kits (designed for wargaming) there are a couple of manufacturers: Perry miniatures, Warlord Games, Rubicon Models and Wargames Factory (currently OOP, but there are likely a number of sets still out on the market).

You can go 3D models, only a turret and a hull. Hard to get less fiddly than that. The models are also light weight and sturdy, perfect for gaming.

Thanks gents!

I'll look at these links later today. How about North Africa stuff? and post Torch?

Perry Miniatures range (which contains also lots of metals) is especially designed with the North Africa in mind.

As far as figures go, there is a mind boggling number of people making them! Not sure how many are easily available in the US, but here is a little list…

Also look at West Wind "Berlin or Bust". 28mm and compatible with Brigade. They are available from Old Glory 25s.

Warlord plastic figures are (to my taste anyway) hit and miss. I love my late war panzer grenadiers, but my US infantry aren't nearly as nice. Some of them have really really big heads. And yes, that's sadly normal at this scale apparently, but these are beyond the norm. I have a couple examples in which the stunted legs and giant head make them look like some sort of cross between a chimp and a pumpkin. They are releasing a new set of US plastic nest month. Wait for those.

Wait for those.

Or wait for the Perry plastic set. I think you will find the figures nicely proportioned. The 3ups done so far looks good.

We're a Canadian manufacturer/retailer but our Air Mail postage & packing prices are reasonable.

If you're also interested vehicles, Army Group North Miniatures (AGNM) vehicles are aimed at wargamers, requiring minimal assembly.

PSC makes 28mm Russians. I highly recommend them! Good price, good figures. They will cover all your basic (and support) needs.
