As the title asks. I would imagine yes. I have begun to venture into the realm of using different colors of spray primers as base coats, particularly gray colors for Star Wars Legion vehicles as well as for a Bandai X-wing fighter project coming up.
The technique worked fantastically well for my Nurgle army which I spray primed in Army Painter Goblin Green. Army Painter primers are all acrylic primers.
I also just primed in gray a large GW model.
But what occurred to me is that I'm now using Testors Model Master sprays. The Testors spray primers are all enamels, as opposed to Army Painter which as I said is acrylic.
So obviously you can use an enamel primer over various types of models, metal or plastic. Plus, aren't a lot of the spray primers out there in the hardware store world enamels, like Rustoleum and Krylon?
But I've never actually painted with miniature acrylics over an enamel primer. So…can you do that?
