They are nice figures, I have some to paint. My only wish is for a decent Turban guide, for Indian Army Turbans… :( |

@Bindon Blood: I recommend clicking on this link to visit the "Regiments" page on Garen Ewing's wonderful Second Anglo-Afghan War 1878-1880 website, where you can choose a unit from the list of Indian Cavalry Regiments that served in Afghanistan during the war: link After that do a Google search for the unit and click on "Images" and there's a decent chance you'll find some useful visual information. If not, you can start a fresh post on the 19th Century Painting Guides board asking for turban info for a particular regiment and chances are you will get some good useful information. If I see such a post I will do my best to search my reference guides for such info. |

Thanks MG, I will do that. I should have guessed a 'golden source' for turbans would be unavailable… :( |

This illustration is far from a "golden source" and doesn't identify any particular regimental cloth patterns or colors, but it does provide an idea of shape and "kullah or no kullah" (skullcap, usually pointed in shape) to go with a number of different ethnic, tribal, and religious groups…
