very interesting. I am surprised at how many English are in the Scots Greys and in the Inniskilling Dragoons. What was a pound worth then? Lieut. Campbell's single most expensive item was a violin and case @ 5/6/8. He did spend 5/12/6 on 6 shirts. A breast plate @ 1/13/4. What what would that go for today? And broad sword @ /6/8 less than 7 tea spoons @ 2/5/. All great stuff. |
