Remember the old, collectable Star Wars miniatures games from WotC? I have a ton of those things that I bought on sale when the game Wizard's lost the license. I've wanted to use them with FFG's Star Wars game, but without the dials, cards, and sundry other geegaws it hasn't been practical. For some people it may be a pain in the bum to have to buy the conversion kits, but for some of us now those new conversion kits mean getting all the cards, dials, and sundries to play X-Wing without having to buy the miniatures. I'm about to go from having just the basic boxed game to having a near armada of ships. Is anyone else excited about this? |

I'm more excited about people dumping their 1st edition stuff so I can nab them for all the Micromachines TIEs and X Wings that I hve :) |

I'm looking forward to first edition X-Wings and Y-Wings being dumped on eBay on the cheap! |

The thought on the X-Wing forums elsewhere is that the dumping will not occur. In fact, people are snatching up the 1e ships. I'm guilty of it. I just dropped some money getting the small ships I was missing, like the elusive Y-Wings. I was lucky to pay retail. BTW the 2e Y-Wings are on preorder for September. Retail is $20 USD, but online stores have them at $15 USD preorder. Much nicer models, only a couple dollars more online than 1e ships, but I still wanted the old stuff so they fit in with my 1e ships. I will eventually switch to 2e via the conversation kits, plus get some of the 2e versions just because they are so much nicer. The larger ships, like Slave 1, seem to be the same price a 1e online. |

@David Manley That's probably not going to work as much due to the conversion kits… |

Well I'm only going by what I've seen being posted on various forums and FB groups – no need to keep old dials so why not dump them is what I've seen. TBH it's no biggie. FFG published PDFs of all the cards and manoeuvre dial listings for everything and I have a simple method of using tables rather than dials so I don't really care either way. |

I'm glad it worked out for you! 2.0 has rekindled my interest in the game. |

The reboot announcement has been met with universal acclaim at our weekly Monday night X-Wing group at the FLGS. The state of the game rules has been in really bad shape and getting worse with each new wave. This looks promising! |

I've heard power creep is a big problem. But won't this problem happen again as new ships are released? I wonder how FFG will/can avoid it? |
