Amazing work – the painting really brings out the "lean mean look" of the Mindens |

Great work, Jim. I can't believe how you can paint so well, so quickly. You've mastered the Holy Grail of gaming! |

Fritz, can you comment on the paint colors used to do the 35th? As a lad, I gained a copy of a German (1930's) cigarette cards book showing this mid-blue coat, and odd "deck plank," dark yellow, or whatever small clothes. This combination is also shown in a more recent expensive publication – Gunther Dorn? – with the small clothes having a slightly green tinge. Osprey show this regiment with very pale yellow small clothes, and I understand that is the color of sulphur. The coat is also show as a dark, or navy blue. I have them both way – a unit of Freikorp 15's as you show them; and an old Glory 15 (18?) with navy blue and pale yellow. GdeP |

The color is something called Sulfur Yellow which has a green tint to it. I had to mix my own color using basic yellow and a lime green color for the base and then added some white to get the highlight. I used Bleckwenn as my reference. Fritz |
