Folks: I have started a section on my site dedicated to the Hyphenated Wars: hmwrs.com/HyphenWars.htm There is not a lot there yet, but I will add things as I have time. If you have an article or something which would fit in, please e-mail me (the address is on the site). I am especially interested in people's experience with different rules sets – I have used Age of Valor and other F&F variants, They Died for Glory, and Mit Blut und Eisen, but I have not tried 1870/1859/1866 or Bloody Big Battles. I'm sure there are others I am not familiar with. Cheers, A. Gregory |

Hi Arofan, You are too modest: that's a really nice resource, and you've obviously put a lot of work into it. I especially like your section on limber colours in 1866 – gold dust! Chris Bloody Big BATTLES! link bloodybigbattles.blogspot.co.uk |

What a great source. Our group (Jackson Gamers) does Franco-German (AKA Franco-Prussian) War games using 25/28mm figures and Larry Brom's venerable "Chassepot and Needlegun" rules. We've had multi-division games with hundreds of figures on huge tables. A lot of fun. Jim |

ColCampbell: Now that you mention them, I do remember Larry Brom's rules. I wasn't into Franco-German stuff back then, but times have changed (at least for me). Cheers, A. Gregory P.S. As a bit of a student of the history of the Holy Roman Empire, I always like it when people call it "Franco-German" – my Franken (Franconian) neighbors hate it when you call them "Bavarians," even though that's what they have been since Napoleon's time. Calling them "Prussian" would be like accusing a New Yorker of being a Texan (or maybe the other way round). In many ways, Germany is still a cluster of tiny little states, and they all are proud of their own history and think the other ones talk funny… |

That's a great video. I cannot say that his assertions that Wikipedia is completely wrong are necessarily convincing – other sources talk about the same issues. However, he obviously has an opinion for a reason. I have added the link to my document – thanks for this! Cheers, A. Gregory |
