I'm in the middle of painting a 15mm army. I have discovered (suspect) that I may be missing at least 1 bag of axemen. I'm 80% near completion. Do I : A) Halt the project, go down to the back shed and try and find the missing units (15% chance of finding them in the next two days). B) continue and finish what I've got, with a remote chance of playing them (35%). C) Put this project aside, work on another one? D) Put this project aside, go on the Internet and buy a pre-painted, snap together model aircraft? I will go and make myself a cup of tea, will check back. |

I didn't convert anything, rather, I was the one who was converted. I'd never had the opportunity to use 15mm miniatures, and decided to take the plunge – 10mm is a bit too small, delicate, and difficult to find for my liking. I reinvested some of my Shapeways earnings into miniatures. These guys are meant to represent a "pink team", with a fireteam of aero riflemen, sniper team, anti-materiel rifle team, JTAC, and a local guide or lawman, for the Redoubt universe.
Ducted-fan VTOLs (called "fanjets" in-universe), two Bell ARVX-1B Arapaho combat scouts and one Bell ORVX-3B Pueblo light utility scout
Close-up of figures. I'm very pleased with how they turned out; washes and drybrushing makes simple paint jobs look great at this scale!
Group shot. All figures are from Rebel Minis; the troops are from their Special Forces pack, the sniper and anti-materiel rifle teams are from the modern US sniper pack, and the lawman in the middle is from the Modern US Marshals pack. I had debated painting camouflage patterns, but wasn't sure how well it would show up in 15mm. I grabbed one of my Multicam uniform blouses, took a look at it from across the apartment, and decided that heavy olive drab wash over khaki, with a beige drybrush over top, would do the trick. Fortunately, it did. |

Sillypoint, if this is a project dear to your heart you should finish the figures you've got. While you're doing that order the missing figures and by the time they arrive you'll have finished the ones at hand. Missing figures get their paint and you're done with your project. |

Stand down, found the axe men, 2 feet away from the paint table, not in the shed. Note to self: store all parts of a project in the same box. 😀 |

Well done. I usually don't find the missing figures until after I bought replacements. |
