…. to Feature Poe Dameron and BB-8

"Fans of Star Wars animation, rejoice! A new animated series from Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) will be arriving on the Disney Channel. Star Wars Resistance, which just landed a series order at the network, will follow a young Resistance pilot by the name of Kazuda Xiono who's tasked with spying on the First Order as the organization becomes more and more of a threat. The new animated series will arrive this fall on the Disney Channel in the U.S. and on Disney XD in other territories around the world, though a premiere date hasn't been set just yet…."

Interesting. The original Star Wars borrowed from the original Space Battleship Yamato that first aired in 1974. The Wave Motion Gun, in bow of the Yamato, and the robot Analyzer are two obvious inspirations for the Deathstar planet-destroying beam weapon and R2-D2 respectively.

It really sucks that the announcement of new Star Wars projects now just fills me with dread.

Especially given that Star Wars used to be my favourite thing in the world.

Dezmond I still feel good when I hear of New Star Wars projects.

I've enjoyed all the Star Wars films even Last Jedi and the only Star Wars things that made me ill was that gold-plated droid,Droids and the Star Wars Holiday special.

Other than those three I'm pleased with the rest.

It's Dave Filoni, so it will be fine. He's the least offensive writer in the whole SW-universe, and that includes George.

If only they would give him the reins, and boot Kennedy.

Yep, the best new Star Wars movie since Return of the Jedi was Rogue One…and so far the new trilogy is making the second trilogy look good by comparison, which is really sinking pretty low…

I've really enjoyed all of the animated series, Clone Wars; Rebels, to me they've very much captured the Star Wars feel better than the latest movies. Good to see most of the team returning for this new series.

So does anyone want to speculate on Kazuda Xiono's ethnicity and gender identity?

That is, after all, all that matters these days.

@Dezmond

I believe the voice actor they have tapped for this is a Japanese-American man.

I don't mind Filoni's female characters though, as they aren't dripping with SJW baggage.

Ah! Good!

Another victory for the noble People of Colour over the white devil oppressor penises!

It seems reasonable to use a voice actor of the same ethnic background as the character portrayed – victory of a long over due inclusion – its politically correct (and just polite) to not use black face anymore in any context.

Best Star Wars movies are the original three + Rogue One. Have high hopes for Solo – may help to wash out the taste of Last Jedi (just imagine if Mark Hamil had not at least got a few changes for Luke…)
