"In 1813 plans were made to set up a new Dutch army; the new government was eager to get this army as quickly as possible provided with clothing and equipment, which had to deviate strongly from that of the French army. Uniforms, equipment and weapons were available from the end of 1813, thanks in part to shipments from Great Britain, which sent no fewer than 16,000 uniforms, weapons and equipment items during the period 1813-1815.
