Hello everyone,

It will seem as if in 1870 the Bavarians did not use "clear cases" like the other German drummers?

But drums of the French style ???

Someone can inform me, thank you

Try this as a source.

Bravo and thank you.

But what is your source?

And all other German nations used this kind of drums ?

This is the source:

Also, I put the wrong picture in. THIS is a 1870 drummer.

It looks like some German states used the 'thin' drum and others such as Bavaria, the more traditional design. Trawl through the pictures to find out which was which.

Excuse me Artilleryman I do not see on your link because Firefox has prevented this site from opening a popup window.

Also, you put the wrong picture in. Which ?
Which one is right above or the first?
In my opinion the Bavarians do not have snare drums in 1870- 1871.

The second drummer in cornflower blue and pink is the 1870 type. It is a shame if you cannot access the source as it is very useful. I have to enable pop-ups to get the images.

As a last resort, see if this works.

Excellent website !

What are the main uniform differences between a Bavarian hunter and an infantryman?

The achselwülste on each shoulder and the green marksmanship cords with two green pompoms attached to the tunic chest?

In 1870-1871, the Bavarian drummers carried ordinary drums, not flat drums (caisses claires)like the other Germans!

Hello Artilleryman,

Sorry but your links do not work anymore ?

What is going on ?

Paskal, sorry for such a late reply but real life has hauled me away from the 19th Century for a while. The answer is, as you have probably discovered by now, that the website was taken down as far as I know, as it violated some of the new rules regarding data protection.

Again, my apologies for being tardy.
