Comic book characters were a common decoration on AFVs in Vietnam. I've seen a few individual shots of an M42, a V-100 and others with a a DC or Marvel character painted on them. I have not, until last week, seen an entire unit of them.
Sadly, that is the largest picture I can find. It looks like from left to right: (Blank) Captain America Green (Hornet?) Iron Man Dare Devil Spider-Man Thor From what I've found, other units had their own Thor (even a "Thor II"), but this unit went all out. Wyatt |

That's one cool pic. Think I will save & try to enlarge it.. but I bet your right. Now, the first may have been the units CO and thought it unfitting, OR.. the new AFV on the block and just hadn't made it to the 'paint shop' yet. |
