In 28mm. I have looked and since this was a group of degenerates there is no real uniform.

Look not gloriying these terrible guys- My Budapest Siege needs these guys playing out as a nuciance. They will be not friends to Germans or Reg Hungarian army. caught between Soviets. Encounter is Margit Blvd running out of Buda.

No maybe Warlord BUF guys. Head Swaps with caps. German helmets. Thinking the undertaking to build these tyrants may not be worth it. But from Kustrin we are working on Budapest. Just the Siege and the flight from the Kessel. But we also build up to have 20 to 30 random encounters possible.

Any thoughts on how to make some of these worthless humans woudl be appreciated. History does not let us close our eyes and sugar coat it. These guys were out of control that even the Germans hated them.

Ideas welcome. 28mm is the scale we are using.

Danke in advance--JH

Take a look at these German troops form Pulp minis. Paint the armbands different and they seem pretty close:

Bravo Two Zero -
Re Arrow Cross uniform imagery, have you tried googling "Hungarian Arrow Cross" and selecting images? Lots of good stuff.

If you do not already have in hand a copy of "The Siege of Budapest" by Krisztian Ungvary, I most highly recommend it to you for your project. From what Ungvary writes, it appears that Arrow Cross elements garbed themselves in whatever they could procure, seize or steal – everything from Hungarian military, security and police uniforms to German-issue Wehrmacht (including some SS) field uniforms and gear to civilian wear – with the organized units being the best outfitted and equipped and the street gangs the least. All in all, you probably have a pretty open field to work with. One of the things I noticed in Ungvary's book – highly polished tall riding boots seem to have been all the rage among Arrow Cross leaders.

BTW, you will definitely want to include a figure representing the Arrow Cross leadership personality Father Alfred Kun, the psychopathic anti-semite "priest" whose uniform was a black monk's habit, fedora and pistol belt.

I also second the recommendation of Pulp Figures – excellent sculpts, selection and quality.

Hope this helps.
