Afternoon all

I am starting a Peninsular War collection of 18mm, mainly going to be Blue Moon with some AB figures for certain battalions – however, I like a bit of variation so can anyone inform me how CGM and Xan compare?

Any other recommendations to get a bit of variation out there?

Planning on using General De Armee rules so will need lots of skirmishers and mounted officers / ADC's

Thanks in advance

Regards,

J

JJ's collection uses mix of Xan and AB. link
I too have mixed to two in the same Nassu unit.
My CGM are too large to place in the same unit.
They should be ok as it's own unit.
I am now mixing BM with my OG in my Polish units- should have results soon.
AS for skirmishers- it should not be a problem since they are spread out more.

Good luck

CGM are bigger than BM . big enough that i wouldn't mix them in a unit .
i do really like the CGM models , will probably end up using them for my DoW army for LaSalle .

Here is a review with photos: link

And an artillery comparison: link

I wasn't wild about Blue Moon figures (particularly their horses) but their equipment is excellent. So I have AB/BH figures with BM guns and caissons etc. I thought Xan very good. CGM nice clean sculpts but they look a bit weird (I definitely recommend their French in greatcoats though) – their horses are better than BM.

I have used CGM Brunswick artillery with AB Austrians and they are compatible.

Thanks guys, I might use CGM figures for command stands and ADC's as they are a bit larger than the others
