Seeking advice on adding to my 28mm Napoleonic/ Greek War of Independence era Ottoman army. I've got a number of the excellent Steve Barber sculpts, but looking for some variety namely artillery, cavalry, command etc. I know Brigade Games do a range, but never seen them the flesh and I'm fed up of customs charges and the levy applied by Royal Mail. So, any idea on where I can get figures in the UK? As a last resort I'll ship from abroad. Thanks…..! |

I shared your concerns and often said on this forum that Brigade Games Napoleonics were denied to us, this side of the Pond because of postal charges, customs charges and then the handling charge, applied by the postal service as one has not paid import duty. Such doubled the cost of my Saxon Garde du Corps figures from Eureka Australia once. As for my US Desert Boots from Altama……….more than doubled! I was assured BGM do not have this problem and I have had two orders come through without a hitch. Let us say no more than that. Postage…oh yes…….! |

Thank you Deadhead, sound advice I'm sure and I'll get the order in…! Funnily enough, I ordered from Eureka Recently and the service was great from them. What sullied the whole transaction was the Royal Mail. On being requested to pay the import charge and the ludicrous handling fee, which I duly did they lost the package! After 6 phone calls I finally got the figures, took 5 weeks to travel 2 miles, double the time it took from Aus to the U.K. Cheers again! |

Look, This is exactly what I mean….Evzone and Imntel, We must have a care here. We have got away with it so far. But imports from what is, after all, Australia, a Commonwealth Country, ruled by the same Queen, a people that stormed the beaches at Gallipoli, held the line at Tobruk, defended the mountains in New Guinea, the Kodoka Trail…is yet treated at a foreign nation……… Evzone's experience was just mine from Oz………delay in the postal service…surcharge etc. Last time I checked the Antipodeans were not even in rebellion against the Crown, unlike the US Colonies! Guess how I voted on Brexit, but it don't mean nuthin' to me anyway, as I still have an Eire EU passport, after 64 years in the UK. God Save the Queen……in all seriousness, as a very staunch republican family descendant.. Never yet had a problem with BGM Let is just say this. Do not ask too many questions or rock the boat………. |
