"The Skulking Way of War" is probably the best. It's a real eye opener. |

Check out "King Philip's War: Civil War in New England" by James Drake |

I recommend John Grenier's 2005 "The First Way of War: American War Making on the Frontier, 1607-1814." I'm currently reading Walter D. Edmonds' 1968 "The Musket and the Cross." It's a wide-ranging narrative of New France and New England that covers those wars, among others. |

"Mayflower" by Philbrick is a fantastic read. It is the one that got me to create my KPK miniatures range link 1st third, Pilgrims in Europe and decide to come to America. 2nd third, Pilgrims make friends with the Indians and live in peace 3rd part, Second generation of Pilgrims and Indians go to war. |

Mayflower is a great book. King Philip's War by Schultz and Tougias is a very interesting read for both scenario thoughts, as well as providing an easily understood backstory of the conflict. |
