"These pages attempt to set out what information I have on the dress and equipage of the Local Militia regiments of a few selected counties. They are very far from complete, and I apologise for that; when new information comes along it will be added…" Main page link Amicalement Armand |

Perhaps if he is looking in, he would be interested in these, especially the West Yorkshire light infantryman. It should help him with uniform details
This Buck miniature is similar to what he already has on his site. (Derbyshire Local Militia)

Nice pictures though Militia and 'Local Militia' are not the same thing. |

Green Tiger The uniform should be the same. And the (Derbyshire Local Militia) quote in my post above, is to point people to the linked article title and miniature portrait within the site that is in the TMP link. Here's yet another Derbyshire man by Buck.

I've been delving a bit more into my files and have found this picture.
which shows that Hamilton Smith's chart cartouche is incorrect. He shows single loops when they should be in pairs. |

The linked blog is about the "local" militia into whom the various volunteers were embodied in 1808. Unlike the "regular" militia, they were part-timers. They were intended to follow the uniform, facings etc of the "regular" county militia but information on them is scarce and it seems hard to generalise as to how often they managed to do so. |
