I always loved dogs… and horses… never cats… but… some years ago… my oldest grandson, who lives with us… took from the Street a box with baby cats… he managed to locate them … but there was one … that did not have that luck … then "she" looked me straight in the eyes … and I could not say that she had to left … she stayed with us forever and I recognize that it was one of the best decisions of my life … now I have 2 cats and a dog.

My friends … do you have pets in your homes? … which ones?

Two cats. We had four but two died within months of each other.
Never liked cats as a kid (you have Bleeped text attitudes like that when you are a youngling) but took to the ex's cat "Killer"(who I got in the divorce) and have loved them since.

I have an elderly black queen… queen being a female cat…

Two dogs, seven cats, and a fish (called twinkle).

Cheers Roger.

One cat – she is a very finicky creature that nobody can quite figure out. I guess that is the nature of cats. She has us well trained to serve her needs.

DColtman18 Apr 2018 12:26 p.m. PST

I serve two cats who torment one dog.

I have a great dog

Tom Reed18 Apr 2018 12:34 p.m. PST

None at present. Been thinking about a pet for companionship as I live alone, but am afraid of one getting into my hobby stuff (paints, etc.).

Bismarck18 Apr 2018 12:45 p.m. PST

i plead the 5th amendment. I am the "crazy old cat man" of the neighborhood. Three indoors that are actually mine and between 4 or 6 neighborhood strays depending on who shows up for breakfast and dinner.

there have been many over the past 38 years.

Like you said, Armand, all it takes is that look. They choose us not the other way around.

But like some of the other posters, I grew up with dogs. The cats didn't start arriving until after marriage. All of them over the years either adopted or strays who worked their way into the house, our hearts and laps.

Son of MOOG18 Apr 2018 12:47 p.m. PST

I have 3 rabbits. The youngest (Lady Belle) is just under a year old, the middle guy (Royal George) is about 4 and my oldest (Cubbit) is…….14 years old!
They are great fun but they turn everything I paint into "fuzzy-wuzzys".

One dog, a retired racing Greyhound. Don't care for cats myself.

6 cats and a dog. We had 2 cats and a dog and then took in a pregnant cat who had been abandoned. She had 4 kittens and we found a home one and kept the mom and three of the kittens.

I love dogs and am allergic to cats. My wife loves cats and is afraid of dogs.

Sometimes we ride our bikes to the dog park just to watch the dogs at play.

Ducks often walk around our condominium complex at this time of year. They are usually male-female couples, but this year we've seen a male-male-female trio feeding and napping together.

6 cats, 3 dogs living in my house at the moment.

One gray cat named Gracie, who has mellowed from a high strung "don't touch me" kind of cat to one who now enjoys the good life: good food, warm laps, and lots of pets.

Covert Walrus18 Apr 2018 3:16 p.m. PST

I got the cat in the split with my partner. She ( Miss Fudge) lives with me and is very supportive of my hobby, mostly because she can sit in and play with the boxes my miniatures arrive in. I have tried to keep her out of storage boxes, however this has not been entirely successful.

She is currently sitting on my computer desk watching me as I type :)

I have a small dog [12 lbs.], a Fox Terrier Poodle mix. And my sister brings her dog over very often, a small Schnauzer Poodle [21 lbs.]. They are both females so they frequently don't get along. But tolerate each other as long as one is not getting more attention, etc. than the other. Very much like some humans I know … evil grin

I like dogs better than most people. And my 2 dogs are very much like family. Woof ! Woof !

Two dogs and a cat. Couldn't get along without 'em.

One cat who often sits in front of the computer as I type. She is very solicitous of my hobby stuff, and rarely gets on the table when I have it set up.

Florida Tory18 Apr 2018 5:05 p.m. PST

I am a dog person.

When the kids were growing up, we had many other species in the house as pets – cats, Guinea pigs, iguanas, birds, rabbits, fish, snails – as well as occasional guests – gerbils, hamsters, tortoises – but I was never a fan.

What's in the yard is another matter altogether. I do live in Florida, and have no control on what passes through.

Two dogs.

One dog, adopted from a shelter. Great company.

I currently have two dogs: a Papillon and a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Probably the most unusual "pet" I ever had was a deer. Actually it wasn't much of a pet; it was a wild deer that would come by the house almost every afternoon and I would feed it peppermint candies. It would even hang around with me while I did yard work. Truth be told, however, the dogs are much better pets, and a lot safer.

A Golden Retriever that sleeps next to me when I paint miniatures.

OldGrenadier at work19 Apr 2018 4:09 a.m. PST

Two dogs: a Chocolate Lab (Coco) who is growing into a Grand Old Lady (8 years or so) and a Pit Bull mix (Tiara) who was a rescue and is about 2 years old. I don't think my two live-in adult children count as pets.

Just to be different… 3 parrots. 2 African Greys and a Citron Cockatoo. Never quiet at my house!

Old Wolfman19 Apr 2018 6:54 a.m. PST

Had a cat until she died back in 2012. Brownish-gray tiger, female. Lived 18 years. Downstairs neighbors have a Jack Russell mix and a cat.

princeman19 Apr 2018 7:01 a.m. PST

Currently have 2 kittens soon to be cats. Have had many cats before. All were rescue cats. Can't seem to be without them.

Andrew Walters19 Apr 2018 9:26 a.m. PST

Two cats, brother and sister, turned three earlier this week. They are a joy, though you have to keep them out of trouble…

Prince Alberts Revenge19 Apr 2018 10:26 a.m. PST

3 dogs: a 14 year old Boston Terrier male and two female Boston Terrier/French Bulldog mixes (2 and 3 years old). The females keep the old man feeling young and full of vigor.

Love those pups so much.

FTR, I said I have a cat, not that I like cats. I tolerate the cat and appreciate that SWMBO loves cats.

Two dogs, Peyton and Penny. Both bring me a tremendous amount of love and happiness. Definite proof that God loves me and wants me to be happy

COL Scott ret24 Apr 2018 2:32 a.m. PST

I have none, 5 children being enough – even as they grow up. However my Mother-in-Law moved in with two cats and a dog (one cat died- not my fault).

So my house has a dog and a cat. I like animals of almost any type – although allergic to pet dander. The last dog that was my wife and mine died in 2000- she was a great dog.

Choctaw24 Apr 2018 10:25 a.m. PST

Three dogs, one disgruntled cat and a fish.
