My Tablet and phone are littered with plenty of social media apps and as I am a bit of a Googlephile I use apps for accessing my Drive, Email, Calendar, Google Plus and Blogger of course. But beyond these social media Apps and a handful of other related tools I don't have anything specifically designed for the Wargamer or Miniature painter and despite considering myself fairly tech-savvy I'm only now, belatedly, becoming aware that such tools exist. So rather than stumbling around in the dark I thought I would ask the TMP community, what Apps do you find useful? Can you point me in the directions of any worth checking out? Thanks BigLee BLMAblog.com |

GW has a good painting app. I use it. |

Thanks for that mrwigglesworth, I'll look into that. Perhaps its worth adding that I'm looking for Apps that are compatible with my devices which use the Android OS. |

What is a painting ap supposed to do? |

I'm thinking primarily of Apps like BattleScribe for recording and building army rosters or PaintRack which allows the user to track their paint collection, make 'wish lists' of colours needed and record colour combinations used for particular projects. But I'd be just as interested in a Gaming news digest or a good colour wheel app? |

Seems to me, Notepad will do all of that info recording if it you want a digital list while shopping. As for a specific colour wheel ap…that strikes me as overkill too. Recording colour combinations to paint by number is not a method I use…paint lots vary, and pigments/medium in the same bottle age too. too many variables for the sake of consistancy. The old eyeball and hand mix on the pallet remains my favourite method. I rarely use straight from the bottle in my work. Variation and serendipity make for richer more lifelike figures in the end. |

It is conceivable that, instead of jotting down on a piece of paper the paints that I need when I'm going to the store to buy paint, I would instead enter that information into the Notes app on my phone. I guess that would happen if I were completely out of scratch paper at home, a condition that I do not believe that I have ever experienced. |
