"Historicon 2018 PEL due in one week!" Topic

Per the Important Dates link on the HMGS Historicon 2018 website, the PEL will be released on April 25, just one week from today.
And a little further down the road, Pre-registration for the convention will open on May 9th.

Doesn't this cause more trouble for people who can't commit this early for July? What is the pressing need for GMs to register their games and thereby have the PEL produced so early?

I've been told it's due to need for events managers to work the schedule to fit everyone in. You can still register and get into the program, but wont make the PEL.

Some folks (myself definitely included) look forward with great anticipation to the PEL to see what to base their weekend around. And to see what craziness is being offered.

My group will be running a slew of games Friday, and requested our own little section of Distlefink as we run stuff all day. 15mm ACW, ACW Naval, and the rest of us will be running various Samurai, Medieval, and fantasy using Osprey rules. I hope plenty of people drop by once we see where we are at.

Sure, who doesn't? But me going to the convention isn't predicated on what's in the PEL. And really, does it take all that advance notice to schedule the games?

Ask Dan the Man, who has had lots of experience doing it for Fall-In.
BTW, THREE DAYS LEFT until Mr. PEL comes out of his burrow, and if he sees his shadow….

All of the events to date are in the system and assigned tables, etc….. others continue to come in. For the most part… the place is booked… yes there are some slots available at different times, but the prime times are booked.

Lots of games, all eras…. it will be published soon.

And if Uncle Dan says so, it must be true!

lol… there are some last minute changes happening.. scheduling issues. We are trying to get every game scheduled. We knew this might be an issue with space, especially with the renovations going on.

I needed to add… any issues with the scheduling are on me folks, I am not perfect, far from it, but I have some awesome help to make sure events comes off the best it can be.

The PEL will come out…tomorrow!
Bet yer bottom dollar we'll see PEL….

@47Ronin, please give credit to the CD, he is the one who made it happen. I am just a clerk for this show, lol!

Seriously though, the skill set that is brought to HMGS through the 2 new convention directors is really something awesome… I am learning a lot from both of them. I expect that Fall In! will get kicked up a notch this year too… I just hope I can do a good enough job again!

Lets keep this to Hcon though! Lots of awesome games…. and, some very cool Naval games will be played. I am excited, but as usual… my duties will keep me very busy…. There are 2 games I absolutely want to get into…. I will wait until I get onsite though as I want you guys to get first pick.. I think it is only fair.

Anyway…. the games will be plentiful and awesome.

I need to mention there are some awesome Naval games being played on the stage in the theatre room.. where Wally's basement will be.

I saw the Thursday schedule for Pete Panzieri's Stagecoach game, I started drooling.

As I mentioned… there is an ACW game by The Yellow Worm Society…. a Sail & Steam Navies game….. I love this system…. I confess though….. there is a nice blend of everything I love…. Napoleonic, Frostgrave, LOTR, naval…. I am excited and hope I get to play in at least one game I really want to!

That would be my cousin running that game. I'm sure he'd love to have you. I can guarantee you its been playtested many times by our group.

For GM's, it's great that the table is listed already in the PEL for each game. I can do a search and see whether and when that table is in use prior to my setup time.
