Is miniature wargaming your main creative outlet, in the top dozen of your creative activities, or doesn't even count? |

My primary creativity is art, primarily comics but painting and 3D sculptures as well. Wargaming is my hobby that leads to work in illustration, miniature painting and concept art. |

For those where it is top 12, what are the other 11 that rank higher, that you still find time for wargaming and coming to TMP. I'm amazed |

No, work is more creative by a long way. Then I'd say wargaming is in about fourth position hobby wise. |

My claim is much more like building/painting models for wargaming. I have not actually gamed for a very, very, long time … So pretty much that is as "creative" as I get" … Save for the odd cooking this & that … Is that creative ? |

I don't consider it a creative activity at all. I'm just playing games. It is my #1 hobby. |
Zinkala | 15 Apr 2018 8:18 a.m. PST |
@Ed Mohrmann, I consider the keeping the wife happy more of a job or obligation than a hobby. I don't get much pleasure out of a lot of it but it's still much nicer here when the work's done. To answer the op, yes it's my #1 creative outlet and my #1 hobby. Don't play nearly as much as I'd like but the last year I've done pretty good with painting minis and making some decent looking terrain. |

rustymusket | 15 Apr 2018 9:34 a.m. PST |
My other hobby is singing, either in the shower or with my CDs. I have been doing more of it lately, but I do not consider it creative but artistry. |
etotheipi | 15 Apr 2018 9:49 a.m. PST |
Writing scenarios and doing conversions are both in the top dozen creative outlets. Playing is more a recreational activity (all of which usually have a creative component WRT strategy and tactics). Painting is a Zen activity. Building robots, programming, and poetry are my other top-tier creative outlets. I keep telling myself I need to build an animatronic Baba Yaga hut … I have a lot of creativity required for work activities as well, so those fill out the dozen. |
Oberlindes Sol LIC | 15 Apr 2018 11:00 a.m. PST |
Wargaming is the reason for just about all of the painting, sculpting, cartography, and a lot of the writing that I do. So it is definitely one of my primary creative outlets. |
