… The Coast Of Syria?

"Russia's navy appears to have responded to President Donald Trump's warning that US missiles are headed to Syria after he accused the Syrian government of again conducting chemical warfare against its people.

The Russian military has said it is tracking the movements of the US Navy, Reuters reported Wednesday…."

Of course they are tracking our ships. What of It?

It would be irresponsible of the Russians not to track another navy's vessels. That and the fact that they have to give their client state (Syria) an appearance of support.

Didn't know a Kilo was one of the more advanced subs currently. It would make sense to leave port also in case an errant missile heads to the port.

Yeah, the newer Kilos are very quiet. I'd rather have German engineering (like the Israeli Dolphin-class), but the Kilos are good.

Gauging from what happened Friday night (4:00 am Sat. – local time?), I would say no.

No, because the US and various allied forces are very open with the Russian military about what they're going to hit and when.

This means that the Russians can make lots of noise about taking action if Russian personnel are threatened (which they aren't) and then safely do nothing (because they're not insane), while the US and allied forces can bomb what they like because they've cleared it beforehand, enabling Trump et al to swagger about and look tough.

Meanwhile the Syrian Arab Army moves anything it can move as quickly as it can and takes little to no casualties, while effectively empty buildings are levelled by enormous missile bombardment at great cost.
